Purpose
To support schools with the cost of replacing classroom teachers participating in the observation day.
This election commitment is a self-directed professional development opportunity designed to support teachers wishing to transition to junior secondary teaching in Queensland State Schools.
Duration of program
All observations need to be completed by June 2022.
Eligibility
Schools that have participating teachers in the TJS program.
Allocation of funds
Places in this program are limited and the total budget to support this program is $100,000.00.
Participating teachers of this program are entitled to a teacher relief scheme (TRS) payment for their base school, to support release time for a day of observation in a junior secondary classroom.
Classroom observations should be arranged with the participant’s school of choice before the end of Term 1, 2020. Completion of the classroom observation should be before the end of the program as listed above.
Payment details
Payment timeframes will be negotiated directly with each school and will be made in line with the scheduled monthly payment timeframes.
How to apply
On successful completion of the TJS program, the school will replace their teacher whilst they attend the (1) day classroom observation day. The school will be reimbursed after submission of the classroom observation checklist to learningandpd.humanres@qed.qld.gov.au.
Expressions of Interest for teachers wishing to participate in this program closed on the 31 October 2019. No further applications can be submitted.
