Purpose
This funding supports Queensland state schools by providing financial assistance for schools and clusters with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a sustainable water safety and swimming program.
Please note:
The department is re-structuring the water safety and swimming education grant format as a result of the Queensland Government's commitment of an additional $500,000 to support water safety and swimming education in Queensland state schools.
This will ensure that allocation of this resource supports schools in most need.
Information regarding the new process for this grant will be communicated to schools later in 2023.
Duration of program
Ongoing
Eligibility
State primary and special schools without a swimming pool.
Allocation of funds
Funding is available for schools with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a water safety and swimming program, and that are unable to fund a program from their school budget.
Please note: To ensure equitable distribution of funding, state schools who apply and have not received funding in the past will be prioritised.
Successful applicants will receive a maximum amount of $4,000.
