In order to respond to the current situation regarding COVID-19, the Home Education Unit (HEU) has made some adjustments to its usual business arrangements.
If you wish to submit an application for registration of your child for home education, please

Submission of reports

If you are unable to submit the application or report via email and you do post these, please be aware that, for various reasons, they may not be received for some time.

The Home Education Unit assists parents to understand their obligations in meeting the standard conditions of registration and oversees the
home education registration and
The Chief Executive or delegates of the HEU are the officers with the authority to issue registration for home education.
The HEU can help with:
- understanding the registration or reporting processes
- completing the registration application form and accompanying documentation
- opening learning accounts with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority for registered children entering the compulsory participation phase (known as Learner Unique Identifier, LUI)
- facilitating payment of
Textbook and Resource Allowance. Parents of registered home educated children who are age equivalent to Years 7–12 will be contacted by the HEU in March of each year to organise payment.
