Home Education Unit
The HEU assists parents to understand their obligations in meeting the standard conditions of registration and oversees the
home education registration and
reporting process.
The Chief Executive or delegates are the officers with the authority to issue registration for home education.
The HEU can help with:
- understanding the registration or reporting processes
- completing the registration application form and accompanying documentation
- opening learning accounts with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority for registered children entering the compulsory participation phase (known as Learner Unique Identifier, LUI)
- facilitating payment of textbook and resource allowance. Parents of registered home educated children who are age equivalent to Years 7–12 will be contacted by the HEU in March of each year to organise payment.
