Volunteer work

Volunteer work provides young people with an opportunity to develop skills, gain confidence and experience and build a network within an individual's chosen industry.

Volunteer work can make the transition to employment much easier. Young people with disability may require assistance to access volunteering opportunities and support to learn and maintain their engagement in the workplace.

There are opportunities to volunteer in a wide range of areas and industries. A search through the Volunteering Queensland website will provide a range of advice, support material and contacts to workplaces and organisations seeking volunteers.

Accredited training enables young people to achieve Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications while making valuable links with the local community.
