Under section 374 of the
Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 (the Act), the governing body of a non-state school must, on or before 30 June each year, give the Queensland Minister for Education allowance acquittal details, for the school, relating to the previous year of operation of the school. The allowance acquittal confirms that the school has expended, or committed to expend, all funding received from the State Government for the relevant purposes.
The governing body of a non-state school must provide allowance acquittal details for any allowance paid to the school under section 368(1)(b) of the Act. The State Recurrent Grant, Textbook and Resource Allowance, Remote Area Tuition Allowance, Grammar Schools Endowment are examples of allowances that require the provision of allowance acquittal details.
Allowance acquittal details must be provided by the governing body of the school, or an authorised nominee of the school's governing body, in the approved form and must be approved by an accountant who is independent from the school and the governing body.
The Office of Non-State Education (ONSE) is responsible for the collection of allowance acquittal details for non-state schools.
The approved allowance acquittal form templates are as follows:
Do not complete the above templates, as they are for reference only. Prepopulated allowance acquittal forms will be distributed by ONSE directly to schools for completion.
