Queensland schools teach the Australia Curriculum

By the end of 2020, Queensland state schools are required to provide the Australian Curriculum to students in Prep to Year 10.

Developed by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, the curriculum outlines what all students should learn, including the historical origins of Anzac Day, ways it is commemorated throughout Australia and the world, the nature and significance of the war in world and Australian history, and the Australian experience of war.

The K–12 curriculum, assessment and reporting framework specifies the curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements for all Queensland state schools' principals and staff delivering the curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12.

To support Queensland schools implement the Australian Curriculum: Humanities and Social Sciences in Prep to Years 6/7 and the Australian Curriculum: History in Years 7 to 10, the Queensland Department of Education devised Curriculum into the Classroom materials. These materials also help teachers to identify age appropriate classroom resources.

The Premier's Anzac Prize
