If there are circumstances in your household that interrupt your child's normal school attendance you can access the learning resources provided on this website for your child to complete at home.
If your child is ill or there are temporary school closures due to bushfires, flooding or other local events, the school will provide advice regarding how learning can be completed at home.
Your school will contact you using their normal communication methods such as the school website, newsletters, emails or other digital tools, which will be updated regularly.
If schools temporarily close, teachers may move some or all of your children’s learning online.
Most Queensland state school students already have experience in working online using tools such as email, OneDrive, Class Notebook, or
QLearn.
Where digital or online options are not available, schools may provide hard copies of resources for students to take home. Units of work and other resources are able to be printed by schools for students to take home. This will allow students who have limited connectivity or who may not have a suitable device, to continue their learning.
The health and wellbeing of all children and students is our priority and we are committed to ensuring that their learning continues during emergencies such as bushfires, flooding and the current coronavirus pandemic.
The department has developed a
number of resources to ensure that students and families are able to access the advice and support they need to support their mental health and wellbeing and keep their family safe and well during the coronavirus pandemic.
The department also recognises that many families will be experiencing significant personal, financial and social stress during the coronavirus pandemic and may require additional support. To assist parents to access the support they need to keep their family safe and well, the department has developed
COVID-19 advice for parents and carers to access support.
