Queensland schools have been implementing the Prep to Year 10 Australian Curriculum, unmodified, since 2012.

In 2022, an updated Prep to Year 10 Australian Curriculum Version 9 was approved, along with continued implementation of the Australian Curriculum ‘as written’ in Queensland schools. Staged implementation of Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum began in 2024 and will be complete in 2027.

The K–12 curriculum, assessment and reporting framework specifies the minimum requirements for providing Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum in Prep to Year 10.

Implementation support

Advice for schools, capability development and curriculum implementation resources to support Queensland state schools transition to Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum can be accessed on the Curriculum Gateway.

Curriculum to the Classroom (C2C) materials developed for Version 8.4 of the Australian Curriculum may continue to support provision of Version 9. It is essential curriculum leaders and teachers check alignment before including C2C resources in planning, teaching and learning, and assessment.

Queensland state schools can access the C2C website and download manager online on the Curriculum Gateway.

Queensland independent and Catholic schools can access modified C2C materials via Scootle, the national digital learning repository managed by Education Services Australia on behalf of all Education Ministers.
