Parents and carers

As your child's first teacher, you play an important role in building the foundation for developing solid literacy and numeracy skills.

You may wish to connect to parents' associations and know how you and your school can work together on your child's future.

Choosing a school puts you in charge of your child's future. Our website offers useful tips on starting school and provides practical information about holiday dates, uniforms and more.

There are a number of fact sheets available to help parents/carers prepare with enrolling your child in the preparatory year. You can also find out about the Early Phase of Learning, Middle Phase of Learning and Senior Phase of Learning.

The health and wellbeing section provides useful information for parents about your child's health.

And make sure you flick through the reports and publications for the latest opinions and ideas in state education.

The Year of Creativity in 2009 will focus on celebrating and developing creativity within Queensland schools.

Information is also provided for parents who wish to make a complaint about an issue with your child's education.
