Kuranda District State College (KDSC) showcased its sustainability program at the 2019 STEM Teacher Symposium. This project aims to create a culture of environmental sustainability with their school community.
Kuranda District State College is a small co-educational Prep to Year 12 school, located northwest of Cairns, with a school community of 350 students and 60 staff. The school is surrounded by some of the oldest rainforests in the world. The KDSC Sustainability Program provides opportunities for student-led initiatives and embeds aspects of the Australian Curriculum: Design and Technologies and underlining concepts of sustainability.
