Enhancing career education in state schools initiative

The enhancing career education in Queensland state schools initiative consists of a program for Years 7 to 10 students and a capability program for educators.

The Career Education: Pathways Program offers evidence-informed, intentional career education designed to prepare all students in Years 7 to 10 to make informed decisions about their study and post-schooling pathways. Strong focus is placed on students understanding themselves, engaging with authentic career information and developing strategies to adapt to the changing and global nature of work. All resources are aligned to the Australian blueprint for career development and the Australian Curriculum.

The Career Education: Pathways Program for Educators aims to increase the confidence and capability of educators to deliver high-quality, meaningful and personalised career-related learning experiences for students.

Both programs are optional and designed to enhance the effective career-related learning that schools already deliver. They align to the department’s Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student education strategy and prepare students to be on track for success and be ready for their future.
