The Queensland Government has committed a further $4 million from 2017 to 2020 to improve children’s transition to school. The Step up into education initiative will assist schools to develop and implement transition programs that:
- build ongoing relationships between Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) service providers, educators and parents
- determine strategies and initiatives to meet the needs of children and families.
An additional 21 state schools in areas of disadvantage have been selected to develop and implement evidence-based strategies that enhance children’s transition to school in line with the principles, action areas and outcomes of the
