​Purpose

The additional resourcing packages—unexpected staffing costs is an annual process that considers compensation when a school experiences financial distress caused by the cost of replacing classroom teachers in notionally allocated positions who are absent on short-term leave.

The additional resourcing package process is managed centrally to ensure statewide consistency.

Allocation of funds

Assessment for an additional resourcing package occurs during Term 1 of each calendar year to help replace un-budgeted staffing costs incurred in the immediately preceding calendar year that the school has sourced from cash reserves and other activities.

Additional resourcing approved may be in the form of notionally allocated classroom teacher positions (from central office or regional additional allocation pools) and/or an appropriation.

Any additional notionally allocated resourcing is provided for one year only and may not be converted to cash for use in a subsequent year.

TRACER is the approved system for the recording of replacement of notionally allocated classroom teachers on short-term leave. Only schools using TRACER will be eligible for an additional resourcing package.

The School Budget Solution (SBS) is the approved system for the recording and conversion of unused staffing credits. Schools must have a confirmed staffing profile in the SBS to be eligible for an additional resourcing package.

How to apply

Schools do not need to apply for an additional resource package. All data is extracted centrally from TRACER and SBS to determine the eligible payment amount.

Schools must submit their end of year reconciliation for confirmation by the agreed reconciliation submission date in January each year.
