Purpose
To assist schools with the re-engagement of children and young people disconnected from, or at risk of disconnecting from, education, training or employment, using targeted initiatives in selected schools.

Eligibility
State schools selected through regional initiatives.
Allocation of funds
Funds are distributed to education regions to deliver local initiatives. In 2022–23, funding is $400,000 per region. The following methodologies outline how each region allocates funding to schools:
Metropolitan South region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes.
- Funds may be distributed to schools to support program activities dependent on program priorities.
Metropolitan North region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes.
- Funds may be distributed to schools to support program activities dependent on program priorities.
South East region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes.
Darling Downs South West region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes.
North Coast region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes, including Regional Youth Engagement Service activities.
Central Queensland region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes, including Regional Youth Engagement Service Activities.
North Queensland region
- Program funding is used by the region to deliver program outcomes, including Regional Youth Engagement Service activities.
Far North Queensland region
- Funds are distributed to schools and other agencies to support the re-engagement and transition of disengaged students into learning or working options.
- Distribution of funds is based on the service delivery needs and may include employment of a transition officer, payment of training and program providers, and third party arrangements for case management.
- Some funds are used by the region to manage and deliver program outcomes.

How to apply
Unless otherwise dictated by the regional methodology, schools will be selected and no application process is required.
