Purpose

To assist with the operational and maintenance costs of the Big Red Truck—Outback College of Hospitality Trade Training Centre (OCOH). The Big Red Truck, originally funded by the Commonwealth, provides Year 10-12 students with the opportunity to work towards their Certificate II in Kitchen Operations. Central West Queensland schools that utilise this program are Longreach State High School and Aramac, Barcaldine, Blackall and Winton State Schools.

Duration of program

3 years, from 2019 to 2021

Eligibility

Longreach State High School

Allocation of funds

The fixed budget of this appropriation is $60,000 per annum.

The department provides this appropriation as an in-kind contribution towards the operational and maintenance costs associated with the program. As Longreach State High School is the host school for the Big Red Truck and responsible for maintaining the budget, they are the only school that will receive funding under this appropriation.

The schools that participate in the Big Red Truck program self-fund the remaining on-going costs, some of which are offset by hiring revenue.

Payment details

The appropriation will be paid annually, in November 2019 and in January 2020 and January 2021.

How to apply

There is no application required by Longreach State High School to receive these funds.

Payment will be made automatically each year in line with the payment details section.
