The Certificate III Cleaning Operations program is a face-to-face/online professional development opportunity delivered by TAFE Queensland and designed to upskill the department’s cleaning staff.
This forms part of their latest Enterprise Bargaining (EB) agreement and is valid for the lifetime of the Department of Education Cleaners Certified Agreement 2018.
The purpose of the program is to:
- develop the skill set of permanent department cleaners to ensure improved and effective cleaning practices are maintained
- develop basic computer literacy skills of cleaning staff
- provide cleaners with first aid training.
Duration of program
State schools with eligible cleaners.
Allocation of funds
Payments will be calculated based on the casual cleaning rate x scheduled workshop hours (up to a maximum of 38 hours) to enable the permanent cleaners to attend training.
Replacement funding will be reconciled with course attendance records and automatically processed by Learning and Development through the School Appropriation and Payment Application (SAPA) payment process upon a cleaner's successful completion of the program.
The EB initiative funds replacement time (up to a maximum of 38 hours) for cleaners.
