Purpose
To assist schools in supporting the English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) learning needs of school-aged dependants of international students and bridging visa students.

Eligibility
Any state school with dependant students of international students (i.e. parents/legal custodians) in the 500-visa classification correctly enrolled in Department of Education International's international student management system (ISMS), excluding:
- Prep students
- 500 (schools) or 571 visa students
- bridging visa students.
Allocation of funds
Allocation of funds is calculated based on Bandscale scores.
Bandscale methodology is used in assessing students' English levels in 4 areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The assessment will determine a Bandscale level of between 1 and 6.
Allocations for eligible students are determined each semester based upon each eligible individual student's Bandscale score.

How to apply
Schools do not need to apply for this funding.
Schools with eligible students will receive a list of students enrolled in Department of Education International's international student management system (ISMS) in February and July each year. Schools are required to complete assessments and update Bandscale data into OneSchool for each eligible student. Bandscale data from OneSchool is used to calculate funding allocations.
