Purpose
To assist schools to provide support across a range of global engagement activities related to student and/or teacher/educator programs including international immersion experiences, awards and professional development opportunities.
Duration of program
The duration will vary according to the relevant program or project but in most cases these are short term (i.e. less than 3 months). The current maximum term of a program is 2 terms (approx. 6 months).
Eligibility
Eligibility criteria are contained within the relevant application forms for each specific program.
Allocation of funds
Schools are provided funding for various purposes, depending on the program.
- If a teacher is participating in a program during school time, TRS (Teacher Relief Scheme) may be allocated to the school to fund a substitute teacher.
- If a delegation is hosted at a school providing food and drink to the group, a funding allowance will be provided to assist with the costs of catering.
- If a program involves accommodation, the school is provided funding to cover these costs (homestay or hotel).

Recoupment process
Recoupments of appropriation funds may be undertaken if funds have been provided to schools and the program or project subsequently changes.
