​​​Purpose

To assist Independent Public Schools (IPS) to implement and manage strategies under the Department's IPS Policy Framework.

The Independent Public Schools initiative was launched in 2013 to provide Queensland state schools and their communities with greater autonomy to make local decisions to improve student outcomes.

The first 26 Queensland Independent Public School commenced in January 2013 and there are currently 250 IPS across the state.
