​Purpose

To assist schools to support eligible high performing Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students in Year 7 to Year 12.

Duration of program

2018–2024​

Eligibility

Funding is available to the following eligible participating schools:

  • Aspley State High School
  • Brisbane State High School
  • Kedron State High School
  • Sandgate State High School
  • Wavell State High School
  • Queensland Academy for Creative Industries.

Schools were selected based on programs offered and commitment to holistic support for IAEI students.

Funds will only be provided whilst participating students continue to meet the program eligibility as follows:

  • have been successful participants in DoE's Solid Pathways program in Year 6
  • maintain a B-grade average (or higher) in the majority of subjects
  • maintain a minimum 90% attendance rate at the school
  • have no significant behavioural issues recorded in OneSchool.

Allocation of funds

Funding is provided at $3,000 per student per calendar year.

Payment details

An initial payment of $2,000 per student will be made in March each year followed by a payment of $1,000 per student in August each year, provided the students remain eligible​ (to help offset expenses in Semester 2 each year).

Data requirements

Confirmation from the school is provided at the start of each semester to ensure that the students continue to meet the scholarship criteria outlined above.

Recoupment policy

Schools receive funds based on individual students. If a student no longer meets the program eligibility criteria, recoupments of residual funding may be requested from the school.

Schools do not need to apply for this funding. Eligible schools will be contacted for information to assist with funding requirements.
