Allocation of funds
The total annual budget for distribution is $74,000. Eligible centres receive a fixed amount each year.
During 2019, the Chair of the Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres Principal Alliance (OEECPA) and the department discussed a review of the Site Specific—Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres school appropriation funding. A proposal was developed outlining the new application and selection for this program.
Schools that were successful with their applications and will receive funding in 2024 and 2025 are the following: Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre (EEC), Moreton Bay EEC, Jacobs Well EEC, Sunshine Coast EEC, Barambah EEC and Tinaroo EEC.

How to apply
During November 2023, funding applications were open to all Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres. The successful schools for the 2024 and 2025 school years were notified in February 2024.
Entitlements for these schools will be automatically paid each year as per the timeline above.
The new application and selection process will be run every 2 years.
