Purpose
To assist state schools and Initial Teacher Education (ITE) provider partnerships to pilot new or enhanced programs with a focus on professional experience placements and school-based experiences for preservice teachers in 2024.

Eligibility
State schools and ITE providers with a current Professional Experience Partnership Agreement (PEPA) with the department.
Allocation of funds
Funding of up to $50,000 is payable to each shortlisted school or ITE provider, as per the requested amount. Schools and ITE provider appropriation recipients are selected by application and are assessed based on the Professional Experience Innovation (PEI) selection criteria and weighted assessment rubric which focuses on:
- supporting pre-service teachers to gain valuable experiences in state school settings
- fostering new or innovative practices, or enhancing current programs/initiatives
- developing or building effective partnerships and collaboration between ITE providers and state schools
- alignment with workforce priorities
- determining the possible success and outcomes of the program/initiative.
In 2024, the following state schools were shortlisted to receive payment:
- Benowa State School—$28,577
- Brisbane South State Secondary College—$50,000.
