Purpose
To support schools to purchase and implement specific safety enhancements as part of the enforceable undertaking deliverables.
Duration of program
2026 and 2027
Eligibility
Schools will qualify to receive funding if they meet the following criteria:
- state secondary schools delivering technologies curriculum in practical workshops (e.g. woodwork or metalwork) either
- P–9 or P–10 state school located in Far North, North, Central, North Coast or Darling Downs South West regions
- identified through the department’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing unit
- the reimbursement application request complies with the defined requirements for the purchase and implementation of approved safety enhancements.
Allocation of funds
Each eligible school will be able to seek reimbursement of up to $1,500 after purchasing and implementing 1 or more of the approved machine safety enhancements.
The funding arrangement will be available until the completion of the enforceable undertaking in 2027.
Eligible schools will be provided specific information regarding the funding request application process and evidence required for reimbursement.
