Purpose
To provide Queensland schools with funds to assist in meeting the costs of their involvement of the Queensland Representative School Sport program. These funds assist with the costs involved in replacing teachers from school duties who are participating in the Queensland Representative School Sport program and other expenses.

Allocation of funds
Teacher replacement
Funds are allocated based on teacher replacement costs with consideration of the number of state/regional teams, number of teachers per state/regional team, number of national and state championship events being conducted and the number of school days required.
The allocation will vary based on the specific representative level of competition (i.e. regional trial, state championship, national/interstate, international event).
Schools may receive funding for all days the staff member is absent. The specific role the staff member undertakes (i.e. competition days, travel days, meeting days) determines the department cost centre used in the payment process.
Other expenses
Funds can be allocated to cover:
- agreed district, regional or state-level expenses, related to participation in representative school sport
- costs incurred by sport-specific committees to support the delivery of representative school sport events and competitions.
Payment details
Payments to schools under this program are negotiated with their Regional School Sport Office or Queensland Representative School Sport Unit. Any payment made will be in-line with the scheduled monthly payment runs.

How to apply
To be eligible for possible funding, schools must be affiliated with Queensland Representative School Sport through their Regional School Sport Office.
Schools wishing to participate in representative sporting competitions should contact their local Regional School Sports Officer who will assist them to participate, as well as facilitate requests to access available funding on the school's behalf.
