Playgrounds and tuckshops upgrade program

​​Purpose

The fund will provide more than $136 million for state schools with an identified need to upgrade school playgrounds and tuckshops.

Duration of program

2023–2024

Projects to be completed by 30 June 2024

Eligibility

State schools

  • Where the school applied for the identified funding for a project that met the program objectives as announced in the Queensland 2022–​23 budget.

Expenditure guidelines​

Playgrounds and tuckshops upgrade program funds are provided through OneSchool cost centre 1160 and must be expended under expenditure OneSchool cost centre 2082.

Allocation of funds

Funding will be provided based on the application and selection process overseen by the Queensland Department of Education.

State schools

  1. Funds will be made to eligible state schools via SAPA payment system.
  2. For funding over $100,000, projects may be managed through the regional infrastructure manager, with appropriate approvals through the Infrastructure Portfolio Change Sub-Committee (IPCSC), Queensland Department of Education.

Recoupment policy

State schools

Recoupments of appropriations may be undertaken where funded activities or projects are cancelled, can no longer be delivered by the school or project scope changes no longer align with program objectives.
