Purpose
To assist schools by providing multiagency support to vulnerable students for continuous schooling. It equips regions with resources to coordinate support efforts and promotes early intervention and seamless collaboration among agencies. The initiative aims to improve educational engagement and outcomes through enhanced data collection and effective multi-agency practices.

Expenditure guidelines
Schools should follow the processes set out in the Student Child and Family Connect implementation guidelines. Departmental staff can access the guidelines by searching for 'Student Child and Family Connect implementation guidelines' on OnePortal.
Student Child and Family Connect funds are provided as revenue through OneSchool cost centre 1180 and must be expended under expenditure OneSchool cost centre 2084.
Allocation of funds
Annual funding of $100,000 has been allocated to each of the 8 regions to assist schools with vulnerable students and families to access multi-agency support to remain in education.
These funds will be managed by regions and paid directly to eligible schools.
Amounts will be determined based on specific needs and the business case presented by the schools requesting assistance.
