Dandiiri School and Community Library
Dandiiri Schools and Community Library, located in Inala, is a statewide resource centre which showcases many aspects of Aboriginal education and Torres Strait Islander education, cultures and history.
It provides a collection of Aboriginal resources and Torres Strait Islander resources for schools and other educational institutions. Resources include teacher reference materials, fiction and non-fiction texts, artefacts, puzzles and toys.

Building our cultural capability
Through our commitment to Aboriginal Peoples and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (PDF, 8.2MB), in the spirit of reconciliation, we aim to deliver aspirational educational, economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We want every student, educator and staff member to feel a sense of belonging, wellbeing and safety whereby every student can realise their full potential.
We're doing this through improving our understanding of Queensland's history, legislation, policies and other significant events that have impacted, and continue to impact, the lives of Aboriginal peoples and Torre Strait Islander peoples across Queensland. By deepening our understanding and recognising past practices, we're moving towards reconciliation so we can meet the educational aspirations of Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students. Showcasing the oldest living culture, our artefact and painting collection represents the diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and languages.
The display is designed as a learning space, inviting staff and visitors to pause reflect and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We're developing 2 booklets that present the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artefacts and paintings to guide staff and visitors in engaging with the collection. These are due for release in 2026.
To support our schools and regional and central offices, we're developing an artefact guideline to support consistent and respectful practices. This is due for release in 2026.
