Targeted engagement programs support Queensland state school students to engage in learning by providing wrap around support, including in-school mentoring, case management, targeted incentives, outside school hours activities and safe spaces.
Through involvement in the program, participants aim to actively complete their schooling, become well-rounded, confident young people, and prepare for their post-school future with a broad range of life skills and a healthy approach to living.
Invitation to market: Preferred provider list
An invitation to market will invite external program suppliers to express interest and register to be pre-assessed, forming a preferred supplier list.
The preferred supplier list will be published for school access, with rolling updates as providers come forward. You may submit an application for assessment at any time.
Please allow time for the department to consider your application prior to advice on your inclusion on the preferred provider list. The duration will vary according to the volume and complexity of applications at any given time. The department will provide an indication of anticipated timeframes through your application process.
Please note: A preferred provider list through a service level agreement (SLA) is a preliminary assessment of certain capability and experience criteria for the limited purpose of inclusion on a supplier register. It does not constitute endorsement, recommendation, appointment, approval or pre-qualification of the supplier by the Department of Education.
Inclusion on the supplier register does not:
- guarantee any minimum volume or value of work
- guarantee any invitation to participate in a quotation, tender, request for proposal or other procurement process
- confer any right or legitimate expectation that the supplier will be selected for, or awarded, any work.
Queensland state schools may, at their discretion, seek and engage services from any supplier, whether or not that supplier is included on the register established under this SLA.
Funded schools
From Semester 2 2027, the Department of Education is supporting students who need it most by providing funding directly to Queensland state schools with identified engagement challenges to implement a targeted engagement program.
From 2027, a publicly available list of funded schools will be shared to enable providers to engage directly with schools to discuss program implementation in new schools or continuity of programs currently supporting Attendance and Engagement programs.
