This funding supports Queensland state schools by providing financial assistance for schools and clusters with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a sustainable water safety and swimming program.

Allocation of funds
Funding totalling $200,000 is available for schools with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a water safety and swimming program, and that are unable to fund a program from their school budget.
Please note: To ensure equitable distribution of funding, state schools who apply and have not received funding in the past will be prioritised.

How to apply
Eligible schools can apply for funding by completing the application form and returning it to State Schools each year.
Schools need to provide as much detail as possible outlining the barriers that prevent them from implementing a water safety and swimming program. Endorsement by the principal is required for the application to be submitted.
Applications open on
8 July 2024 and close on
26 July 2024.
