How to subscribe to iCalendar updates

If you only download the link and do not subscribe, you will not receive iCalendar updates. To ensure you receive updates on Apple devices, sync your device with your iTunes to migrate the calendar across devices. To ensure you receive updates on Android devices, sync your device with your Google account to migrate the calendar across devices.

For Apple devices (IOS)

1. Copy the calendar URL—http://education.qld.gov.au/about/Documents/qld-school-holidays.ics
2. On your iPhone, open Settings
3. Scroll down and select Calendar
4. Select Accounts
5. Select Add Account
6. Select Other
7. Under Calendars, select Add Subscribed Calendar
8. Paste the URL into the Server field.
9. Select Next
10. Adjust any settings (description/name, alerts, etc.)
11. Select Save

For Android devices

1. Open up and log into your personal Google account at http://www.google.com/calendar
2. On the left hand side of the page select Other Calendars and select the drop down arrow
3. Select Add by URL
4. Copy and paste the URL—http://education.qld.gov.au/about/Documents/qld-school-holidays.ics
5. Select Add Calendar

For Windows desktop

1. Open Outlook
2. Go to the Calendar view
3. On the Home tab ribbon, select Add Calendar
4. Select From Internet...
5. Paste this URL into the box—http://education.qld.gov.au/about/Documents/qld-school-holidays.ics
6. Select OK
7. When prompted, confirm you want to subscribe
8. The calendar will appear under Other Calendars
   

For Apple/Mac desktop

1. Select the Calendar app on your Mac
2. In the top menu, select File, then select New Calendar Subscription...
3. Paste the URL—http://education.qld.gov.au/about/Documents/qld-school-holidays.ics
4. Select Subscribe
5. Update settings if needed (e.g., name, colour, auto-refresh)
6. Select OK​​
