​​​​The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld)Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld) and Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (Qld) require all Queensland workplaces to maintain information about incidents and in some instances notify the regulator of health and safety incidents.

An incident is notifiable if it arises out of the conduct of a business or undertaking and results in the death, serious injury or serious illness of a person, or involves a dangerous incident.

Incident investigation is undertaken to determine the underlying causes and prevent the recurrence of similar incidents.
