Getting started

Every student with physical impairment has unique needs and, as parents, you will know best how to support your child’s learning needs. Students with physical impairment may require support to access and engage with learning materials through specific teaching strategies, including the use of assistive technologies.

Initial queries regarding learning at home should be directed to your child’s class teacher and school in the first instance. Your school can direct you to other regional contacts as needed.

Contact your student’s teacher or Advisory Visiting Teacher (AVT)

Your student’s teacher or AVT—Physical Impairment can assist you to make specific adjustments and implement strategies that will support your student to continue accessing and completing their school work from home.

Supporting learning at home

In supporting learning at home you will find a range of resources to support access, learning activities and other strategies to maximise the learning for your child.
