Program overview
The flagship Experienced Principal program includes a suite of advanced leadership development offerings in 2024. This includes an award-winning, global school leadership development program, which focuses on honing relationship-building, communication, change management and influencing skills of school principals.
Leveraging global leadership networks to form a unique collaboration, participants will have the opportunity to connect and learn from school principals across regions and to access an extensive range of leading partners across business, non-for-profit and government sectors.
Target audience
This program is targeted to best meet the needs of established and experienced principals across all Queensland state schools who are actively seeking an advanced leadership development program to challenge and enhance their leadership capability.
The Experienced Principal Program includes up to 60 funded places, which covers program costs and accommodation. Participants arrange their own travel to attend, funded by their school where applicable.
Objectives
This program will immerse K–12 leaders in a series of leadership learning experiences to refine and enhance their effectiveness to positively impact student achievement, wellbeing and engagement. Key program aspects will encompass:
- building strong relationships and followership
- communicating courageously
- expanding and strengthening a network across diverse sectors and geographies
- reconnecting to your purpose
- enabling successful change.
Structure
The program will consist of a 2.5-day immersive residential program and a combination of problem-based learning and experiential and collaborative sessions leveraging real-life principal challenges.
This program will be led by experienced professionals, co-facilitated by accredited educators drawn from interstate educational jurisdictions.
In 2023, an opportunity was offered to principals to participate in a global school leadership development program. Further opportunities will be released in 2024.
