Opportunity overview
The STEM Taiwan Global Student Program offers Queensland Year 10 students an exciting opportunity to be immersed in innovative experiences and engage with the rich culture of Taiwan.
Participants will engage in industry visits and hands-on activities that highlight Taiwan's advancements in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields to deepen their understanding of the practical applications of these disciplines. Participants will also delve into Taiwan's diverse cultural heritage and experience Taiwanese school life at a local New Taipei high school, where they will develop their language skills through participation in a variety of classes and activities.
Through this program, participants gain a deeper appreciation for STEM disciplines and Taiwanese culture while cultivating the knowledge, skills and cultural awareness needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for students
- Be a full-time Year 10 student, either enrolled at a Queensland state high school or registered for home schooling through Queensland Home Education.
- Study STEM subjects as part of their schooling, intend to continue with the study and use of these subjects and have an interest in Taiwanese culture.
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen residing in Australia.
- Have (or be willing to obtain) a current and valid passport with at least 6 months' validity from the date of return to Australia.

Eligibility requirement for chaperones
- Be a fully registered teacher at a Queensland state school.
- Be permanently employed at the time of application and program delivery.
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen residing in Australia.
- Have (or be willing to obtain) a current and valid passport with at least 6 months' validity from the date of return to Australia.
