The Global Engagement (GE) team within the Department of Education International (DEi) offers a range of immersive global programs and opportunities for students, teachers, education leaders and Queensland schools each year, delivered online, domestically or via outbound and inbound immersion.
GE programs:
- provide an opportunity for students to explore new cultural and pedagogical environments and become active global citizens through developing their global competence
- enable educators to enhance their cultural understandings and skills to communicate across cultures, to develop globally competent students and support the internationalisation of schools.

For students
GE offers students a range of immersion programs and prizes.
These opportunities enable students to explore new cultures, experience new learning settings, advance language skills, enhance their knowledge of Australian and world history, and develop qualities to become active global citizens.
For teachers
GE offers schools, teachers and educational leaders global immersion experiences through professional development programs or as a chaperone of a student group.
These opportunities enable teachers to enhance their teaching capabilities through language and culture immersion.
