Opportunity overview
The Global Passport: Explore the world in 5 days program offers Queensland students entering Years 4–6 in 2027 an exciting opportunity to virtually 'travel' to various countries from the comfort of their own home.
Participants will connect with experienced university tutors in an engaging online environment, where they will enjoy a fun learning experience over 5 consecutive days. Through interactive lessons, participants will experience different cultures through hands-on activities; basic language learning; and the exploration of diverse topics, including food, art, daily life and cultural traditions to broaden their cultural horizons and develop global competence.
This program introduces participants to new cultures, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and cultural awareness needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for students
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen residing in Australia.
- Be a full-time Year 4, 5 or 6 student (in 2027), either enrolled at a Queensland state school or registered for home schooling through Queensland Home Education (QHE).
- Have an interest in learning about different countries, languages and cultures.
- Have access to a stable internet connection; PC, laptop or tablet; headset or headphones (with microphone); and a webcam.
- Be available to participate in the program for 5 consecutive days during the course dates—programs run for a duration of 1.5 hours between 9.00am and 2.30pm.
- Have parent/guardian consent and teacher or community educator (if registered for home schooling through QHE) contact details ready to submit an expression of interest (EOI).
