The Queensland Government provides state recurrent funding to non-state schools in support of the right of parents to choose the school they believe is best for their child or is consistent with their personal values or faith, and recognises the valuable contribution the non-state sector plays in the education of children in Queensland.
The Queensland Government also assists eligible non-state schools with the cost of capital projects that are required to allow the facilitation and delivery of a quality learning program. The focus of the State Capital Assistance Scheme (SCAS) and the External Infrastructure Scheme (EIS), is on school needs and the ability of the school community to meet those needs.
The schemes are administered by Queensland Catholic Capital Assistance Authority and the Queensland Independent Schools Block Grant Authority on behalf of the Queensland Government.
Non-state schools also receive recurrent and capital grants from the Australian Government (Commonwealth). Further information about Commonwealth funding can be found at the Commonwealth's Department of Education website.
Non-state schools can access information on payments received through the department's School Appropriations Payment Application.
