The new Queensland Government is giving parents the support they need to tackle bullying, so no kid feels alone. Support is available through a 7-day-a-week Parentline, staffed by trained counsellors working alongside a specialist team of dedicated case workers.
Bullying is the ongoing, deliberate misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical, or social behaviour that causes harm. It can happen in person or online, and may be obvious or hidden.
Look for signs such as reluctance to go to school, changes in mood, withdrawal from friends, or unexplained injuries. Talking gently with your child and asking open questions can help you understand what’s happening.
