The Department of Education has introduced a phased return of research activities involving Queensland state schools and education sites. Research with existing approvals and new applications for single school studies can recommence in Queensland state education sites from Term 3, with the approval of the school principal/manager and if they can be delivered remotely without imposition on school operations. On-site research may be appropriate if the study is in the context of a program delivered at the state school site. Please follow the instructions of the relevant school/site regarding your research.
New research applications will still be accepted (via the
Queensland Education Research Inventory) and processed in due course. However, no new approvals for permission to approach multiple state schools will be given until schools return to normal operations, or unless there is an exceptional circumstance. We anticipate a return to normal operations from Term 4. Thank you for your patience.
The department relies on high quality research, to inform its education policy and services. Research Services plays a key role in making sure that research carried out with the department, schools and our other education facilities, has educational benefits, is appropriate and worthwhile, and is done in a safe and ethical way.
