Flexible arrangements involving an alternative education provider
A flexible arrangement allows all or part of a student's educational program to be delivered by another education provider such as a private education provider or another school (state or non-state).
Early and delayed entry to Prep
Early or delayed entry to Prep are options which may be considered in specific circumstances and where it is in a child's best educational interests.
Exemptions from compulsory schooling and compulsory participation
An exemption from compulsory schooling or the compulsory participation phase is available when a child or a young person cannot attend or it would be unreasonable in all of the circumstances for them to attend school or participate in an eligible option for a period of more than ten consecutive school days.
Religious instruction
The
religious instruction policy statement supports schools to provide religious instruction in accordance with legislative requirements.
Same day student absence notification
All schools are required to notify parents on the same day if a student is absent from school without explanation. Schools can choose the notification process that best suits their community (e.g. phone call, SMS, email, home visits). For more information, please see the frequently asked questions or the
managing student absences and enforcing enrolment and attendance at state schools procedure.
