Purpose

Advancing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will enable primary schools to source the expertise they need in their local context from secondary schools, universities or industry and align this with their school improvement plan. The funding will also help primary schools to access the resources they need and forge new partnerships to ensure STEM learning is as active and engaging as possible.

Duration of program

Until end 2021.

Eligibility

Queensland state schools with primary enrolments (excluding Schools of Distance Education).

Allocation of funds

Payment rates per student are as follows:

  • 2019—$51
  • 2020—$79
  • 2021—$108

A minimum allocation equivalent to 50 students is provided per annum.

Due to the transient enrolments at the Queensland Children’s Hospital school, entitlements are calculated based on 7/13 of total enrolments. They are still entitled to a minimum allocation of 50 students for this appropriation.
