Purpose
To assist schools with improving one of the four targets under the
Every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Succeeding (PDF, 1.7MB) strategy, as determined by their Regional Director based on regional performance: Improve the proportion of students achieving a C or above in English, reduce the number of students receiving multiple school disciplinary absences by 2022, improve the proportion of educators who strongly agree they are confident in embedding cultural perspectives in learning by 30% by 2022, and increase the student retention rated from Years 10-12 to 90% by 2022.

Eligibility
State schools with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Each regional director will determine which target to best invest in under the profile and choose schools based on their performance against one of the 4 Every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Succeeding strategy targets, efficiencies of scale, and strategy discussions with State Schools – Indigenous Education.
Allocation of funds
Each region will receive $100,000.
Regional directors determine payment amounts to schools, based on their performance against one of the 4 Every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Succeeding strategy targets, efficiencies of scale and strategy discussions with State Schools – Indigenous Education.
Metropolitan region
This region will provide funding for a Senior Project Officer to be allocated to the host school to cover salary costs.
South East region
Program managed by the region with no distribution to schools.
North Coast region
Funds used by the region to manage and deliver program outcomes that contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students succeeding.
Funding (up to $10,000) provided to schools to support individual Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island students to achieve a QCE, to complete certificates or access additional courses that contribute to their QCE points. Eligible schools will be identified through the regional QCE data collection and contacted directly.
Darling Downs South West region
Program managed by the region with no distribution to schools.
Central region
Funds utilised by the region in order to develop a tailored professional learning program to build confident and capable school principals and regional leaders of inclusion with a focus on every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student succeeding.
Funds used to continue to build the inclusive and cultural knowledge of principals to enhance authentic engagement with indigenous families and students.
Some funds provided to schools as part of NSIT training through the Education Improvement Branch (Focus—Indigenous Lens).
Norther Queensland region
Far North Queensland region
Schools will be invited to apply for funding, outlining a school proposal, using the Department of Education Key Priorities.
A selection panel will assess applications against a criteria matrix and rating system.
Schools will be notified of successful applications and monies will be appropriated in Semester 1 each year.
Payment detail
Payment amounts and timing will be ad hoc throughout the year, determined and coordinated by the relevant Regional Office.
