Transition Readiness Program—remote schools

​​​​​​​​​Purpose

To assist identified remote schools to support the embedding of transition practices and perspectives into the education programs which will assist students to transition into boarding schools and residential facilities throughout Queensland at the end of Year 6.

Identified state schools in remote Indigenous communities in Queensland

Allocation of funds

Allocation will be based on the actual costs associated with implementing the program on a school site to deliver transition readiness activities. These activities may include administration tasks such as the collation and preparation of required documentation to support applications, transition curriculum delivery, travel to and from boarding schools and residential facilities for orientation and re-engagement support in terms of finding an alternative boarding school placement.

How to apply

Principals of identified remote schools must apply to the program manager, Transition Support Services by 15 March each year.
