Purpose
The continuation of the Queensland Virtual STEM Academy (QVSA) based at the Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology (QASMT).
The QVSA will align STEM elements of Advancing education by:
- delivering extension programs for the best and brightest students in Years 5 to 9
- increasing access to specialist STEM experiences and opportunities
- partnering with universities, business and industry to make sure our students are connected to cutting edge developments in STEM
- building STEM teaching capacity through innovative and enabling technologies and sharing of best practice and innovation.
This project further engages and challenges students in Years 5 to 9 who attend remote state schools within the reach of the Centres for Learning and Wellbeing (CLAWs).
Students in remote state schools will have the opportunity to participate in one of 2 QVSA programs, Grand Challenges or Skill Builders, and through their participation work with other like-minded students from across Queensland.
